Winter Skin Care in Denver, CO – How to Care for Your Skin during the Winter Months – Part 2
January 26th, 2009 Skin Essentials StaffHere are a few more tips on how to keep your skin healthy and happy during the colder months.
• It’s quite alright to spend time outside in the winter, but make sure you protect your face and body from the harsh elements like cold air and wind. Try the Anubis lip conditioner to avoid chapped lips. Using a sunscreen, even in the cold, is very important. Our Kinerase SPF 30 will offer all day protection from the harmful ultraviolet rays. They sun can sometimes be more harmful to us because of the glare caused by the snow.
• For dry and cracked feet and heels, try soaking them in warm water. Once your feet are clean apply a heavy moisturizer and put on cotton socks before bed. Covering your feet with a lotion or cream before socks will help trap the moisture and your feet will soften those rough spots.
• Try a microdermabrasion once a month. This will eliminate dead skin cells and debris from building up on the surface of your skin. Minor resurfacing and moisturizing products will keep your skin healthy during the winter, so it doesn’t have to work so hard during the other months.
• One last tip: Try reducing your use of antibacterial gels and wipes. The alcohol will dry out any moisture your skin does contain. When you must, make sure you use a hand cream immediately after to keep your hands, face, and body properly hydrated.
Taking care of our skin should be something we do all year round, but paying special attention during harsh conditions in even more important. Contact us for more details on how to properly treat your skin, no matter what the season.
